Rising global food insecurity is a significant threat, exacerbated by complex challenges in the intricate web of food systems. Climatic change, political landscape (like the current upheaval in Ukraine's grain value chain), the market economy, technical and technological opportunities, demographic trends (including migration) and consumer behaviour (including attitudes towards food waste) underscore the urgency of innovative solutions. In this context, the EU-funded SecureFood project proposes an integrated, systems-thinking approach, aiming to create a resilient ecosystem through scientific knowledge, collaborative processes and cutting-edge digital tools. The cornerstone is the Food Systems Resilience Management Framework, coupled with a collaborative Resilience Governance Framework. By creating a digital toolkit, SecureFood strives to offer evidence-based insights into safeguarding food security.
