The upcoming of a new Bioeconomy marks the interface between the economy in general and the food system. This needs to be a third layer ring in our framework image (Figure 2, not yet included). There are numerous sources that indicate how much is ongoing in building up a new bioeconomy. They cannot be captured all here in this report, but as an example different scenarios are mentioned. The discussion around a future bioeconomy will be taken up in the further knowledge creation phases of in FOSTER
